On September 20, 2024, the Thai Wind Energy Association (ThaiWEA) hosted the ThaiWEA Workshop 2024 under the theme "PDP2024 and the Next Step of Thai Wind Industry" at Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20. The event was well-attended by experts and professionals from both domestic and international renewable energy industries.
The workshop featured presentations on Thailand's Power Development Plan (PDP2024), which includes an increased wind energy quota and improvements to regulations regarding wind turbine installations. Additionally, discussions were held on international collaboration with the China Wind Energy Association (CWEA), the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), and the Danish Embassy to promote the development and exchange of wind energy technology.
Another key topic was the future development of wind energy. The Association has laid out short- and medium-term plans to increase the share of wind energy in the PDP and improve the land approval process for wind energy projects. This includes initiating feasibility studies for offshore wind energy to prepare for the future.
ThaiWEA expressed gratitude to all participants and supporters of the event, hoping that this collaboration will further advance the growth of Thailand's wind energy industry.
